WHAT IS A.L.D.-TECHNOLOGY?
Our silbaerg snowboards are characterized by a completely new, revolutionary and patented technology. We call it A.L.D.-technology. Now you're probably wondering what's behind these three letters? A.L.D. stands for anisotropic layer design and enables snowboards to adapt to different riding situations in an unprecedented way.
During carving turns on the slopes, the edge presses into the snow in addition to the lean angle of the curve and noticeably increases edge hold. This brings decisive advantages, especially on hard and icy slopes. When you boardslide over a rail, the edge lifts slightly. This greatly minimizes the likelihood of tilting and also counteracts edge wear.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The secret is hidden inside our boards: Where other manufacturers use machine-made bi-, tri- or quad-axial reinforcement materials, the wooden core of our boards is surrounded by A.L.D.-tech.® layers handmade by us. This technology ensures that the silbaerg snowboards have a completely new driving experience. The A.L.D.-tech series made of glass fibers with a slight edge deformation is ideal for beginners and people who want to slowly try out the new edge performance.
The A.L.D.-tech PRO fiberglass semi-finished product really goes one step further! Thanks to the increased deformation level, the edge gives you support even on icy surfaces, but leaves you alone when sliding.
A.L.D.-tech Pro Hybrid stands for the combination of A.L.D.-tech and A.L.D.-tech PRO Carbon. The mix of our two semi-finished fiber products results in perfect driving characteristics and low weight.
With our high-end cutting-edge technology, the edge effect is further enhanced by the carbon fibers used! Here you need a gun license! The full carbon construction also reduces weight. The best materials catapult you down any slope and show you the limits of physics.

CARVING WITH A.L.D.-tech
|The effect: When carving, the edges are pressed into the snow - this increases edge hold and board control. In addition, the board turns more easily and tilting is prevented.
SLIDING WITH A.L.D.-tech
|The effect: When boardsliding, on the other hand, the edges are raised - this prevents them from tilting on the rail. Your snowboard adapts to your riding situation and offers more safety and fun!
Our core competence and therefore our unique selling point is the production of the patented A.L.D.-tech.® semi-finished fiber products that surround the wood core. They provide the edge effects that make a snowboard a silbaerg. And so that it works in absolute perfection, we produce it by hand in Chemnitz with a lot of dedication and precision.
The final production of our snowboards takes place with no less attention to detail either in our factory in Chemnitz or at a premium snowboard manufacturer in Austria. This combination ensures that our high quality standards are met. Because the last thing we want is to produce in low-wage countries for producers with no passion for our sport, but with low social standards. Compliance with environmental and labor law standards is also important to us; we currently only find these aspects regionally. In addition to product quality, the CO2 balance in production also plays a crucial role for us, which is why we regularly analyze our products and processes using life cycle assessment methods.
The most efficient use of resources along the entire value chain is very important to us. Our regional production and the relatively short transport routes in Germany and Austria reflect this. But at the same time we are working to further reduce the impact on the environment. Together with the Chemnitz University of Technology, we are researching new ways to create a sustainable snowboard concept. We were able to achieve initial results with dry fiber placement technology. With their use, we are able to reduce carbon fiber waste by up to 94%.
